The will of the late Ralf R. Hillman, Lehigh 1891, provided a sum of money to be known as the R. R. and E. C. Hillman Fund. This fund is used to recognize excellence in teaching, research or advancing the interests of Lehigh University. In that context, this award recognizes exemplary student advising defined as either: (a) guiding students through their exploration and pursuit of an academic course of study; or (b) assisting students in the development and/or completion of research related to their degree program.
Any Lehigh University faculty member is eligible for consideration. No single recipient is to receive the award two years in succession or more than twice altogether. Traditionally the University reserves this award for those who have distinguished themselves through long-term excellence or service to the institution.
You are invited to submit the name of the individual whom you consider to be most worthy of the $5,000 Hillman Award for Excellence in Graduate Advising. Only graduate students are permitted to nominate individuals for this award.
It looks like the time period for accepting nominations for this award ended on 03/24/2008.
